Conscientious Youth paid a courtesy visit to the Kwara State Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), where both parties held insightful discussions on strategies to enhance youth participation in the forthcoming elections.

The meeting focused on the crucial role young people play in strengthening Nigeria’s democratic process and the need to equip them with proper orientation and sensitization that encourage voting based on competence, integrity, and national interest.

During the interactive session, Conscientious Youth emphasized the growing influence of young voters and highlighted the importance of targeted civic education campaigns across schools, communities, and digital platforms.

The organization shared its plans to engage the youth through outreach programs, town-hall meetings, and awareness initiatives aimed at reducing voter apathy, discouraging electoral malpractice, and promoting informed decision-making at the polls.

In response, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Malam Garba Attahiru Madami, commended the group for its commitment to civic engagement and youth empowerment.

He reaffirmed INEC’s openness to partnerships with grassroots organizations and underscored the Commission’s readiness to support initiatives that foster peaceful, credible, and inclusive elections in Kwara State.

He also stressed that empowering young people with the right knowledge is essential to building a strong and transparent democratic system.

As part of the visit, Conscientious Youth presented an Award of Recognition to Malam Garba Attahiru Madami, acknowledging his dedication to electoral integrity and his contributions toward ensuring free and fair elections in the state.

The award served as a gesture of appreciation for his leadership and consistent efforts to uphold democratic values.

The visit concluded with a shared commitment to deepen collaboration, expand voter education programs, and work closely to mobilize youths ahead of the elections.

Both parties expressed optimism that sustained partnership will encourage more young people to participate actively in shaping the future of Kwara State and Nigeria as a whole.
