CYEF Sponsor a Project to Sensitize the Community
Conscientious Youth sponsored a major community-focused project aimed at sensitizing residents, especially young people, on the importance of the 2023 general elections.
The initiative focused on voter education, emphasizing the need for every eligible citizen to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) and the dangers associated with selling their vote.
As part of this project, Conscientious Youth organized a series of awareness campaigns across different communities, markets, and youth gatherings.
The team engaged directly with the public, explaining the critical role the PVC plays in selecting credible leaders and shaping the future of the nation.
They also highlighted how selling one’s vote compromises personal rights, weakens democratic processes, and contributes to long-term underdevelopment.
The sensitization program used a combination of door-to-door outreach, community town halls, and youth-focused discussions to ensure the message reached a wide audience.
Volunteers of Conscientious Youth passionately educated people on why vote-selling is considered a social taboo, stressing that accepting money or material gifts in exchange for votes ultimately deprives citizens of quality governance and accountability.
The campaign further encouraged youths to embrace their power as a driving force of national progress.
They were urged to vote with their conscience, prioritize competency over financial incentives, and influence their peers to do the same. The project also provided clarifications on electoral procedures, PVC collection processes, and polling day responsibilities to ensure that everyone felt confident and prepared for election day.
